Back To The Garden (Saturday, September 22, 2018)
![]() Even if you think you don't, you may already know the Back To The Garden band -- they are the extraordinary backing band for Eve Selis. As a standalone band, Back To The Garden focuses on creating themed shows (e.g., Woodstock, The Last Waltz) offering the best music of particular eras, locales, and events.
For their first frogstop appearance, Back To The Garden will present the music of Laurel Canyon. If the words "Laurel Canyon" aren't enough, consider this: In the late sixties and early seventies, a collection of musicians colonized a eucalyptus-scented canyon deep in the Hollywood Hills to meld folk, rock and American pop into a sound that conquered the world. Back To The Garden recreates the music of the era, featuring the music of the Eagles, the Byrds, Linda Rondstadt, the Doors, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Gram Parsons, Neil Young, the Mamas and the Papas, Carole King, the Monkees and more. Back To The Garden's inspiration comes from a heartfelt love for the music, and it is experienced on many levels, from primal to spiritual, by anyone who attends one of their shows. Invariably, their concerts become mass sing-alongs, set to the soundtrack of the free-love era. About the band: Talk to any member of Back To The Garden, you will be speaking to someone who's made major contributions to the music scene. As session and live players, they have backed artists as diverse as Johnny Cash, Chuck Berry, Kenny Loggins, America, Kim Carnes, Juice Newton, Chaka Khan, Art Neville, BJ Thomas, The Everly Brothers, and many more. Back To The Garden is: Rick Nash, Larry Grano, "Cactus" Jim Soldi, Marc "Twang" Intravaia, and Sharon Whyte.
